After a long vacation we are now back in school. It's been exciting to have new members and a totally new experience working with them the first week. After a long vacation I believe I've come to the IA ready to learn and work. This is my overall reflection of my performance for this week.
Synthesis:
Although at the beginning our group seemed unmotivated, intimidated and quiet by the end we were able get everyone more comfortable and the group working together. By the end everyone was sharing ideas and collaborating. As a whole, we where all involved and constantly making out ideas much more concise and effective. We started with brainstorm, which brought many ideas out. From there we begun to narrow down as we interviews and review viability, desire and feasibility. Personally, I believe I did a good job of synthesizing our ideas for projects. Since we divided into small groups I was in one with all new members. With them we combined many ideas and came up with the school scavenger hunt. I was not only improving my own ideas, but also in my peers. We gave feedback to the other groups and we also received feedback that made our idea better and better every time. Because of this, I believe to deserve MEETING EXPECTATIONS.
Collaboration:
As mentioned previously, as a group we began very weak. There was not a lot of motivation nor strength put by several of our Innovation Academy friends. However, after a marvelous stand up talk by Andrea, Gisella and Daniela, the group finally came to life and started performing at an outstanding level. We where communicating, sharing and even giving constructive feedback on behalf of our ideas. Moreover, personally, I felt that I collaborated at a very decent level because of my constant voice being heard at discussions and also because of my volunteering to write on the board. Due to this facts, I believe a MEETING EXPECTATIONS suits be to the best comfort.
Communication:
Speaking in front of small groups and in discussions has always been a strength of mine. I love to talk and I open up really fast. Due to this, I believe that my voice was heard and my ideas were meaningful to the group. I also gave out feedback to teams when they presented so I was also critical. Nevertheless, I gave my peers the same respect that they supplied me with. I also communicated very well in the interviews by personalizing and making conversation and connection with new teachers. My dad is loves peruvian culture so he is always telling me about fairs, concerts, bands and things to do in Lima that are very typical. Since I knew a lot a bout his it was easy for me to build connections and communicate fine with teachers. I believe for this one I am EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS, it would be in by best comfort.
It was an amazing first week and I enjoyed working on the project. It was wonderful to get to meet other people from the IA and get the opportunity to work with them.
