Two Days later --
It’s Sunday morning and you realize you’ve probably been the most unproductive student at school. You drag yourself out of your bed and start working and regretting not having spent some time yesterday. Eventually you finish your work late that night; exhausted you go to bed regretting every second of your Saturday and Friday.
Yes, this is what happened to me this weekend. According to the book “Think like a Freak” three hardest words in the English dictionary are I don’t know because admitting what you don’t know sometimes seems awkward. Yet in this case, I wouldn’t say I don’t know why I did not use my time wisely but I did learn why I did at the end of my 8 hours of solid work on Sunday.
It has been a long time since I criticized my work habits, probably a month or so but I’ve got something to tell you guys. You must learn the difference between need vs. want. Everyday we face situations that we don’t want to face, or things that we don’t want to do but we do them because we need to.
For others, going to practice might be a struggle, something that you don’t want to do because you’re not enjoying every second of your training. It happens. At the end, were still humans that are constantly growing and branching out for new adventures. However, you end up going to practice because you need to, but not wanting to. Sometimes the desire of staying home and being relaxed is more satisfying than working hard for something that you might never achieve.
This not only stood out for me so strongly during my work but also in life. You’ve possible forced to do so much work in your job that you question yourself why you do it. For some, it is because at the end of the day, they want their family to be healthy and always have something to eat. For others, it is because of the ambition for money. It is a never-ending cycle in a philosophical point of view. But really, why is it that you’re working?
And as always, thanks for reading.
