Task for monday: Complete the rough draft of my documentary script.
☠ My Reaction: Darn it. ☠
Ever since we began The Film Making unit in 10th grade, we wrote scripts, outline and even designed our own movies. But, I never fully understood how to write a complete script. It just seems to complicated and I cant find logistical value to it. However, in order to create the best documentary I possible can, I must follow each step of planning stage. So what I did was simple, try to learn how to script-write. So I opened a new tab in Google Chrome and typed; How to script-write.
My results where many, from how to write professional scripts to how to write scripts for dummies. However, none of these results are able to clear up my mind regarding "How to write a script".
I then looked up a couple of links that my teacher, Corey Topf told us to look at. One of them was just a simple picture for a script, it helped me visualise how it should look, but didn't tell me how to do it; so then I looked at the next link. The other one was a page-long written explanation. I took a shot and read it all.
I still remember the author of that webpage, The Script Lab (webpage linked) comparing how to write a script, with a four-wheel car. He then explained that in order to manufacture a car and be able for it to move, it must have all the required pieces. It then mentioned the obvious, that most cars have two or more doors, windows, and seats.
Metaphorically, if you're trying to build a car, as a script, there are five main pieces that it must absolutely have in order for it to move. The Script Lab referred it as "The Formula" ✏ character, story, structure, voice and form ✏. With these five key components in mind, you're ready to begin creating your script. Keep in mind that writing a script is basically you're outline in much more depth and try to write it exactly the way that you're planning on editing it. The shots, the angles, and voices as mentioned previously are essential on building your perfect script.

Last night, at around 11pm, I began writing my script. I kept going back and forth from my script to my outline but then I figured out that I was creating a lot of new material for my script that wasn't on my outline but I absolutely loved ♡. I started envisioning my documentary in a whole new concept. I actually felt as a professional for some time. Since it was late, I tried doing as much as possible could. By around 1am, my brain was ready to drop. I entered a phase of none-stop writing for THREE hours. I was pleased by what I had done. I had realised that three hours earlier I was learning how to write a script, and now, I have my own script!
Final Result: Now, I'm currently enjoying my time writing my script, it lets me put all my ideas into one paper and more.
