Today, I begin the pre-season of swimming. I am hoping to have a year of tears of joy and hours of training every week. For this, here are some goals that I set myself.
Here are my goals for this year:
1. Quality to "Copa Pacifico 2014" | 2. Quality to "Sudamericano Juvenil 2015" | 3. Improve my kicking by working harder legs at the gym and at the pool. | 4. The most important for me, have a consistency at my training. Don't miss any practices. |
Here is why,
1. Ever since I was small I have always dreamed of competing for Peru, the country that I love. La Copa Pacifico, is my perfect chance. In order to quality I have to end up at the overall ranking between first or second place, currently, I am in second place. I would love to compete at the 50 and 100 free and if possible, earn a medal.
2. As mentioned previously, it would be a dream to compete for Peru. In order to quality for Sudamericano 2015, I will have to end up at the overall ranking in first or second place, its preferable to end up first in order to secure my place. I feel that I have a greater chance at the 100 free because of my intense second fifty. I would like to do 55.45s and try to quality between the top eight in the Sudamericano.
3. Kicking and doing the perfect stroke while swimming have possible the same amount of importance. In order to improve dramatically my times, I will need to start using my legs twice as much. I have great potencial to kick hard but I just don't seem to get it right will at practice.
4. Last but not least, the most important one for me. Have a constant appearance by the pool. Last year was possibly my worst year. I trained about 3 - 4 times a week max when it should be at least 6 - 7. Now, I am focusing 100% of my attention to the Innovation Academy and to my swimming.
