Robert Lewandowski and BVB: The end of an amazing love story
On June 2010, the german club Borussia Dortmund signed someone who happened to be one of the greatest goalscorers of the club. Robert Lewandowski(25), the Polish striker, has scored 101 goals in four marvelous years of football that sadly, will now come to an end this season. The German giants, Bayern Munich have signed him 5-year contract. Unlike Mario Götze, who brought in $51-million to the club, Robert is moving on a free transfer by the end of his contract . This is a big loss for Dortmund, however, their fans were still extremely polite and thankful for those unforgettable victories he provided to the team.
On Saturday May 3rd afternoon, during their home match vs. 1899 Hoffenheim, “Lewa” was greeted by thousands of fans during his final game at the Signal Iduna Park as a BVB player. Because of this, he was gratefully thanked by the head chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke and his life-long Borussia Dortmund fanatics. “That was incredible – I want to thank everyone“ said Robert. On the brightside, Robert has still two more matches to play with the yellow bees, one this Saturday vs. Hertha Berlin and on May 17th (Saturday) vs the german giants, Bayern Munich and fight for the Deutscher Pokal title in the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany.
As a replacement for “Lewa”, the yellow bees are keen on signing colombian striker Adrian Ramos(28) this upcoming July from the german club Hertha Berlin. Adrian has been living what he says to be “his best season, yet.” He is the third top goalscorer with 16 goals in the German Bundesliga, right below Robert with 18. Possessing similar traits to Lewandoski such as being an aerial threat and a clinical finisher, he seems to be the right man to replace the leaving star. The player, Adrian Ramos is excited and ready to begin the next season on August with one of Germany’s finest club — Borussia Dortmund. Price is currently being discussed and will be defined after the season ends after analyzing his overall performance this season.
It’s a pain to believe this great lost for Dortmund but there is still a lot more Dortmund will be able to give to the fans. On August, the german midfielder Ilkay Gundogan(23) which was out since August due to a back injury will be hitting the pitch right next to his other injured players, Sven Bender(24), Neven Subotic(25) and Jakub Blaszczykowski(29).
Good Luck Robert Lewandowski on your new club, and hard luck for Borussia fans.
